Distressed Out West
Wood: Western Cedar
Finish: White Wash and Matte Acrylic
Other: Copper Wire
Dimensions: 3 1/4 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches at the widest point
For indoor use only
The western cedar for this bowl was a cut off left over from a ceiling beam or something similar. The particular grade of cedar used for such purposes is not the highest grade of wood so the end grain portion does not finish nicely. Hence, the distressed finish. I had some copper wire left over from another project so I worked that in too.
Even with the somewhat smaller size of this bowl it has good depth and storage capacity. It's squatty shape and low profile make it versitle for pairing with other items.
The squatty bowl shape happens to be one of my favorites. It's just a classic wood bowl design that feels timeless and useful.
